Summer, So Far

So far, we've just been enjoying being home and trying to find our house under all the clutter that piled up during the school year. Alright, so that second part isn't so enjoyable, but we're doing it anyway. Hopefully by the end of summer, everything will be clean, all the pictures will be hung and our house will look a little more put together.

Between the cleaning, here's some other things we've been doing!

Apparently, silence doesn't always mean trouble. I realized one day that I hadn't heard anything from the kids in a little while and started to worry about what they were getting into and this is what I found.

We've been playing lots of dress up and pretend. It's Emily's favorite. Just in case you can't see her, Emily's best friend Lizzie is standing next to her, also dressed up. Lizzie is a silent presence in our life quite often these days. We also frequently turn into things without realizing it. I've been a frog, a princess and even a whale, just in the last few days.

The kids have been bonding watching tv. They've had fun discovering some new shows, because I couldn't handle watching the same ones all summer. Fraggle Rock was not such a hit, but they seem to like Care Bears!

We had fun one day taking silly pictures.

And of course, I'm teaching them to do chores so I don't have to do all the cleaning myself.
