The First Tooth

My child is not old enough to be losing teeth! But yet, it happened anyway.

Last Saturday Emily was eating breakfast and told me that her tooth was hurting. I checked it out and discovered the reason. It was loose. Even then, I figured we had a little time. But she played with it so much that the next morning when she asked me to check it again. A tiny tug was all it needed to pop right out. 

After the initial trauma of worrying that everyone would think she looks weird and laugh at her, she started to get excited about this sign of growing up. She was even more excited about it the next morning when the tooth fairy came through with a dollar!
