Last month, Emily turned 4 years old! I think she planned her birthday party for 6 months before the actual party. She picked out her cake in the cookbook she got for Christmas and decided she wanted a princess party. We had the Hadley family over, as well as Dave and Amy Fisher. Emily chose pizza for her birthday meal. Her original plan was pizza and hot chocolate, but fortunately, she forgot about the hot chocolate.
She got spoiled with tons of presents, including some dolls, princess nightgowns, new books and new clothes from both sets of grandparents.
Ever since her birthday, she has been telling me about all the things she can now do by herself, 'because fours can do that'. She has never really cared about her age before, but 4 seems to be a big deal to her.
Emily is such a joy to have in our family. She is so helpful and happy. She has been going through a temper tantrum phase lately, but even when they happen, she is always very apologetic and loving afterwards. She always goes out of her way to give everyone hugs and kisses and make sure we know she loves us. Lately, even baby brother (or my belly) gets hugs and kisses.
Emily loves princesses and playing with her kitchen and her doll house and her little brother. She is very good about playing what he wants to play and including him in all her games.
We love you Emily!
