Oh Canada!

Hello blogging world! I am back! Life has been crazy lately to say the least, but we'll get to all that later. We first have to go back to our trip to Canada. My old roommate Tashina was getting married and since her older brother lives in Provo, we were lucky enough to be able to hitch a ride up to the wedding. She got married in the Cardston temple on August 25th. That is an absolutely gorgeous temple if you've never been there. The front entrance is absolutely breath-taking. It was a really nice wedding and we were excited to be able to meet her new husband!

After the wedding we got to hang out with Tashina's family for the rest of the week. We went shopping at West Edmonton Mall, went to a dinner theater and spent several days chilling at the lake.

Emily really enjoyed being at the lake, except for the life-jacket, she wasn't a fan of that. Jacob spent a little time wakeboarding and I spent a lot of time riding in the boat and observing. I'm not so sure that pregnancy and water sports are a good combo. It was very relaxing and lots of fun!

Unfortunately, life has not been so calm and relaxing since we got home. The day after we got back, I started my student teaching. I am currently in the 3rd grade at Amelia Earhart Elementary in Provo. My class seems to be really good and it's been a pretty good experience so far. The only downside is that the school and the district are both implementing so many new programs that the teachers are really stressed out, which makes things a little confusing for me. To make it more stressful, Emily got really sick Wednesday night. Her temperature got up to 104 and the doctor couldn't find anything wrong with her. We went to the hospital and got bloodwork done. We ended up going back to the doctor at 11 pm to get an antibiotic shot in the hope that it would help. It seems to have helped and she's doing much better. We saw her normal doctor the next day and he said that it was probably just one of those bugs that we'll never be able to identify. She has a lovely heat rash now and is way tired, but other than that we are doing better!
