Spring break! This year we stayed home for spring break and it was really nice. We definitely needed some down time and some time cleaning the house! We did get out to go to the park a couple of times, which was good.
For the last few days of spring break we got to go camping with some friends! We discovered a new campground that's only about 20 minutes away from home, which was really nice. It was even quite a bit greener than I was expecting. I really was thinking we were going to be camping among the cacti.
The kids spent a lot of time just running around with their friends and having fun being dirty!
(I get this smirk almost every time I ask him to smile.)
They also had lots of fun going down to the river to skip rocks. Emily wanted to be able to do it so badly! She practiced hard but never quite got it.
Eddie and Chloe were pretty much inseparable.
After the kids had been put in bed on our first night there, we started hearing a noise that sounded like horse. Turns out, it was horses! There were at least 10 of them running around our camp. They seemed to want to get across the river, but there were people camping in the path they wanted to take and they didn't know what else to do. There were several campers there who were completely convinced that they were going to be trampled in their sleep. One gentleman decided that growling at the horses would make them go away. It was pretty funny.
They were still there when we woke up in the morning, so the kids got to see them!
Scott and Emily were brave and fed this guy apples. He was the only one who didn't run away when they got near.
Not pictured: During the middle of our camping trip we came back home for Grandpa's 50th birthday celebration! Mom ran to Party City while smelling like a camp fire to buy balloons and then helped Becca, Sara and Brian decorate! We had a nice dinner with the family and then headed back to the campground for another night!
