Alright, the results aren't officially in, but the tests are done! Emily's vcug and ultrasound were originally scheduled for December 1st (the hospital is really backed up), but they called me yesterday and said that something had come available this morning. So, we were there at the crack of dawn this morning. They said that everything looks normal! Of course, they will officially review things and her doctor will call us, but everyone said it looked normal!
Jacob couldn't take the day off work on that short of notice, so Tashina was a life saver and came with me. It was stressful and I definitely needed the moral support as well as someone to keep track of everything for me. If it had been up to me I probably would have lost everything except Emily.
I would almost say that the worst part of the whole thing was before we even got to the hospital. Because she was supposed to be sedated, she couldn't eat after 3 am. So of course, she woke up at 4 and wanted to eat. If I'd been able to feed her she would have gone right back to sleep, but instead she just kept getting more awake and more mad at me. The looks she gave me made me feel like a terrible mother.
After all that pain, she wasn't really sedated. They put an IV in her head and gave her a little medication, which worked almost instantly. She was off in la la land, not caring about all the people messing with this thing on her head. However, once we got to the x-ray room she started flipping out. They looked and found that the IV had a kink in it, so she hadn't gotten much medicine. They tried to adjust it, but they had to put so much tape on it to make it stick to her hair that when they tried to fix it, it just came out. At that point, the worst was over though, so they just left it out and held her down for the rest. She was not a happy camper, but once they took the catheter out and gave her some apple juice, life was alright again. Apparently the x-ray people were amazing and did it super-humanly fast. The nurse said it might be a record.
After that she got to eat (yay!) and then went down the hall for an ultrasound. That part was easy and completely painless. They even warm the gel up, so there wasn't even discomfort. All in all, we were only at the hospital for about 1 1/2 hours!
She is now sleeping soundly and will hopefully continue to do so for several hours. Meanwhile, Mom is going to go get something to eat and then have a nap. Just kidding.....she's fussing.....

I'm happy to hear things are looking good...:) It's no fun to have a sick little one...:( Poor girl, but she sounds like she's a trooper!
Oh, and to get the titles up of everyone's blog, all you have to do is go under where you would add someone to your list and there's a little box you can check that says, "Title of most recent item" and that should do it! :)
